my brother with the big fish for the day at 28 inches
some pompano we made the other night witha hot papaya mango salsa.
There were three of us fishing. The total was 8 reds and one trout. I farmed at least two nice ones and my brother did the same. We also caught about 4 or 5 shorts between the three of us. The biggest was 28 inches on the dot! Finally got my california brother on these awesome texas fish. _________________ Mike elbert |

Honestly it has to be one of the best places on earth! Between the weather , people and the natural beauty of the place. The fish sure don't hurt either.

Sweet report!
I would have to agree that Corpus is one of the best places to live too!
Check out this article from CNN.com today:
http://money.cnn.com/2005/05/23/pf/pay_costliving/index.htm
Not only do we get the sunshine, sand, fishing, and a great place to live for numerous other reasons, but were the eigth best place to live on a paycheck to cost of living ratio! In other words, we can spend more of our paycheck at Roy's and Academy! _________________ Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.

I moved from san diego to corpus and let me tell you there is a huge difference! We got rid of almost all are debt by moving here. All that is left are my student loans. Lived in california my whole life. Born in pacific beach but it is nothing but wall to wall people. Corpus is just like a time-warp to some happy place that should not exist. I don't think it can last though.
Big John,
what do you do for a living. You always have really goog info on a wide range of topics. Normally on things that interest me both fishing and non-fishing related? _________________ Mike elbert |

Mike,
I'm a financial advisor. I got my MBA in Finance up at UTSA, and I was a supplemental instructor of economics there for 4 and 1/2 years. I also got my BBA in Management there as well.
I'm not allowed to post anything about stocks or bonds, etc. on b-boards - so, I'm sorry, but I can't answer any questions on my area of expertise. You'll have to call me for that kind of stuff.
I have had a lot of "mini-careers" on my way to were I am now, and have a broad interest in many things, so I guess I know just enough to be dangerous in a lot of areas.
I changed undergrad majors 6 times, so I got exposed to alot of different subjects. Being a native of Corpus, and an avid angler, I am interested in things that affect the community and my ability to enjoy casting a mirrorlure after fish.
I also have a kind of freakish semi-photographic memory , so I remember about 90% of everything I see or hear the first time around.
However, I am horrible with names, and will usually forget a person's name about 5 seconds after they tell it to me.
I just soak up all kinds of trivia and facts, and sometimes I even learn something useful enough to pass on. _________________ Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
