hey everyone.... this is my first ever post.finally have something to share. hit the beach at sunup Sat. and stopped just south of 15mm. birds were working about 300yds out but we started fishing the gut behind the first bar.things were slow until about 830 then it just came alive. bait was everywhere and nervous.after a few whiting and pompano we started hitting small skipjack. then out of nowhere my spool starts singin and loosin line.i was thinkin a jack or trout but then this 4-5 ft tarpon goes airborne...what a rush! after about 5 more jumps he slows down and I get him across the bar and into the wade gut. have pics but don't know how to post yet. will try and post soon.anyway it was an awesome morning. about an hour later the birds came in real close and we could see a large bait ball with tarpon attacking. got one more hit but couldnt get him hooked. the rest of the day was mostly whiting and lost lures to some jacks.can't wait to get back down. by the way.... the tarpon was caught on a red and white top dog. also was able to release him in great shape

At the ImageShack site, all you will need to do is click on "Browse" for their server to locate a picture on your hard drive, double click on the picture of your choice, then click "host it," and a series of links will be provided. It's very simple!

Take Care,

CnF

Congratulations Surfrookie. You have me so excited I can barely work. Still too much weed down here but I'm gonna have to look around after work this week. They sure seem to like those TopDogs. I have a special Dog with offshore hooks installed on it for the Tarpon, kept losing them with the standard hooks. For me, nothing comes close to a Tarpon. Thanks for the report.

Congrats on the 'Poon.

I saw some 100lb class fish about a mile NE of the Port A jetties Saturday. I couldn't get them to hit, but it was cool seeing them.
