This is the Draft of the Release Ocean is putting out.
OCEAN KAYAK ANGLERS NAMED
TEXAS KAYAK FISHING ‘TEAM OF THE YEAR’
FERNDALE, Wash. (October 31, DRAFT) Ocean Kayak, originator and leader in the design and development of the world’s finest sit-on-top kayaks, is pleased to announce that their sponsored fisherman, the Texas Kayak Fisherman (Team TKF), has been named the Extreme Edge Fishing Tournament Texas Kayak Fishing ‘Team of the Year’.
Lead by Tom Stubblefield, Robert Harvey and Filip ‘Fishman’ Spencer, Team TKF clinched the Kayak Fishing ‘Team of the Year’ accolades by dominating the recent Aransas Pass (Texas) Extreme Edge Kayak Fishing Tournament. In addition to bragging rights within the state of Texas, Team TKF took home a wooden redfish, affectionately known as “Woody” as part of their victory spoils. Other distinguished Team TKF members include Lawton Carter, Jeff Herman and Vincent Rinaldo.
“We are extremely proud of Team TKF for their accomplishments on the Extreme Edge Kayak Tour and for their dedication to the burgeoning sport of Kayak Fishing,” said Sara Knies, Director of Marketing for Ocean Kayak. “Our guys are great ambassadors for the sport and we couldn’t be more honored that they’ve chosen Ocean Kayak as their brand of choice.”
In addition to team honors, individual members of Team TKF have risen to the top of their field as well. Filip Spencer was recently named the Texas Kayak ‘Fisherman of the Year’ and is in line to win the national Extreme Edge Kayak ‘Fisherman of the Year’ award, while Tom Stubblefield is comfortably in second place in the Extreme Edge National Tournament Series.
“Ocean Kayaks are far and away the finest boats I’ve paddled,” said Spencer. “I’ve been paddling Ocean Kayaks for the past 14 years and they’ve proven themselves time and time again on the water. They’re durable, agile and allow me to fish in places that traditional fisherman can only dream of.”

Congrats Fishman! You deserve it! YOU in particular worked your tail off for that honor fishing in many tournaments and placing in most. I hope to be up there getting awards with you next year.

Yes Sir, FISHMAN certainly deserves all the kudos that could be given to a local angler succeedeing on a State wide and National Scale.
It's awesome to see a local angler do well, while he's still trying to retire from his regular job and fish 100% of his time off!!
Congrats FISHMAN, a TEAM TKF member, and aka Capt. Filip Spencer, aka:
1) The TKF Texas Angler of the Year;
2) The National TKF Angler of the year,
Capt. Rex |
