At last report it had reached south of the 13 on PINS. Nickaway says there is quite a fish kill reported on the north end and is checking it out this afternoon.

I ran into some this weekend around the 40 mm, no dead fish but no live ones either .
I saw some reddish-brown foam in the surf, and spent a couple nights wheezing after getting rolled on my yak friday night. Everybody else in my crew that went in the water also experienced burning eyes and lungs. |

Yep, my nose still feels pretty raw from the short amount of time we spent on the beach south of bob hall on Saturday. Too much exposure will make you feel sick temporarily, but whats worse is it weakens your immune system and tears up your lungs, so many people who "tough it out" when redtide is in the air just end up with bronchitis or worse. Happened to me. _________________ GOBZA!!!

I went out to the Packery Chnl no, jetty this afternoon just to see what it looked like. There were scattered big bull red carcasses scattered around the beach north of the jetty and you could see the area of red tide about a half mi. out to the NE. By the time I walked out to the end of the jetty and talked to a couple young fishermen the NE winds brought it in nearly to the jetty and I started experincing a little breathing discomfort, so I hit the road. Hopefully, the out going tide from the channel will help keep it from getting into the LM.

I spoke to a guy this afternoon who was down around the Cole Park area in a highrise and he said he saw patches of red tide just off the pier.

Yup, you can see it along the bayfront and Ocean Drive. I live around that area and I remember the smell last year and it wasn't pleasant.

I went to the South Packery Jetty today after school. I had no trouble breathing or anything like that. Lots of dead hard heads and a few big Redfish washed up. I fished for about 15 minutes then decided to just take some pics and head home. There were lots of mullet and turtles swimming around on the surf side. The red tide was worst inside the channel it looked like.
