Hi folks - I've been lurking for several years now & finally am taking the time to post up.
I'm from SA & "found" a reason to work in our CC office Friday then hit PINS. Since I was in the company van(& not my jeep) I stopped at the 3mm & caught this batch in about 30 minutes on a silver spoon. I added another bluefish after I took this pic. Sorry for the quality - it was taken on my blackberry.

sweet haul, is that a big bluefish under there? I thought only the little guys were usually caught around here. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

Not sure exactly what classifies "big" is but she was right at 25" & was a fun catch. Definitely devirginized my new Curado 300
Thanks for all the welcomes fellas - hope to meet some of you down the beach sometime. |

Heck yeah dude, 25 is a nice one, especially for these parts. They are frequently in the mid to high 30's on the east coast, but they tend to prefer cooler waters. Nice to know they frequent the surf and jetties this time of year. I agree with OutCast, pound for pound they are some of the toughest out there. Good eats too if you get them on ice ASAP. like most fish, the meat doesn't do well on a stringer all day or in a warm cooler. I put them on the same level food wise as kings. Thanks again for the report. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

Word
No stringers or warm coolers here - all eatin' fish go on ice immediately & get cleaned as soon as the bite stops then get bagged & buried in more ice.
The blue did make some very tasty gumbo. |
