Someone had posted earlier they heard there was an open fire ban on PINS. Has anyone confirmed this? It was said a grill was ok, but not an open fire (bon fire).

It was mentioned on the news friday night. The fire has to be in some sort of metal container. I don't see what is wrong with a 1 1/2 foot hole in the ground. I always put my fire in a hole so the wood lasts longer because it is out of the bellow or wind.

last i heard was there was an open fire ban in allmost all of texas..
coastal counties are included..
wen had open fire on port a beach, could not get a cop to stop by to find out if ban was in effect, but there were worried obout the spring breakers..

Some counties up here are considering banning all forms of outdoor burning, including BBQ pits. Shocked

The drought is really bad. Lets hope it doesn't get as bad as the 80's drought did.

i live between san antonio and boerne.. we have been in a fire ban for i do not know how long, fire pit has been full and waiting since last summer.. even with the rain, still can not burn

Wish I had known about the ban over the weekend. We had a nice open pit fire going at about the thirty.

didnt make it to pins. was in port a, ask cop, he said he didnt care, just dont get burned..

at ranger station they would post fire ban or not at the entrance...
