i recently replaced tires on my old burb from 265-70 to 285-75. firestone store on spid at airline mounted two and installed to check clearance. had to remove mudflaps for clearance. altered flap by removing edge stiffner and reinstalled myself. pulled the trailer like a breeze in big shell cleanup. _________________ ccbobber |

| I've been using 285's on the Tahoe forever. Only thing is turning the wheel hard left or right, the tires will rub on the inside. |

The "hoe" had Yokohama's when I got it, when it came to buy new tires I went with Goodyear Wrangler's. They wear good, no complants. Just rotate and balance. |

You could get a body kit for that real cheap right now.. That might be the way to go if you wanna avoid that annoying frame rubbing. Doesnt really hurt the tires just sounds terrible and does limit the turn radius _________________ Work hard to play harder!!!

| FYI I bought the Bridgestone REVO Dueller AT tires. They are 265-75-16 and the first trip was to Houston. Very quiet for the tread design. The big bonus is that Bridgeston is offering a 100.00 dollar rebate on the set. I could not pass that up. Thanks for your comments. |

I bought the Cooper ATRs in 265/70/16 for my Durango. They are load rated, ride great and are quiet on the highway. Having put them to use in sand, mud, wet roads, dry roads, rock, etc now, I can say they are an awesome tire! Tey llok nice, not overly aggressive, but enough they look serious, plus they have a great warranty and the price was right too. They are also they last American made tire. I also found a piece from the "Off Tarmac Rover group for Land Rover owners" and it is their recommended tire over there. They pay as much over there for them as for BFG ATs, and put them through some really tough test. I thought the most interesting test was climbing up wet mossy rock, where they found the tire sure footed and never felt like they would slip.
Good luck! |
