I told him that I could probably go chase down a 12 point buck in my 4Runner and run it over in a field somewhere, maybe then I could be a hunting guide

Just to put things in perspective. I just went to the restroom and while standing there, I looked out the window and saw one of my cats sitting on the side of my house by my wood pile. He was licking his nuts. I started laughing and he looked up at me like cats do....and went back to licking his nuts.

Frog hunters see things with a bit different orientation than that offered by the usual, standard, eyeball.
The cat, well.....lol
In addition to the abundance of food at the jetty landing, the prop wash oxygenates the water as well as the bait. Everybody is amped up. Bait, reds, whatever lurks below..Or above. Fisherman, ferry operators with loudspeakers telling you about the game warden, the coast guard, a federal fine, nevermind all those boats and folks jockeying for position, lead and baits flying overhead....
When they come out of the water, those reds are lit up in 3D. Blue tails, scarlet bodies, strong as donkeys. I think the O2 is the biggest factor....
Nice to look at.
PITA to fish for. Cheating sucks as well.
Jetties a good option.

Heres my opinion, and remember opinions are like belly buttons. If the only way for a person to catch fish is to go to the ferry landing and toss a line or whatever into a herd of redfish stacked up like cord wood. Then I suggest you try another type of sport ...like dunking for apples. The reds are there for a reason possibly the warmer waters created by the ferry's keel coolers or something. By the way, the look on the cats face is sorta like this not exactly....but close. Let me add one more thing yes its time to start fishing , i plan on starting saturday afternoon after work. So sharpen up your hooks boys...no overtime for 2 weeks. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

I refuse to fish in the Bluff area if you have to do the cat thing. Besides, with IMS going fishing for the next few weeks there won't be anything left for the rest of ya'll anyway. You will have to wait till he goes back to work and the area restocks. But the worst part is he will start posting pictures. Dang, that's depressing, but he is good. Enjoy buddy and don't forget the lip balm. _________________ Diplomacy is the art of saying "Nice doggie" until you can find a rock.

I'm convinced that a 2-man stealth submarine with dual underwater harpoon guns would be the only way to get the reds without being arrested!
I looked online and you could have one custom built for about $750,000.
I have already placed the order for mine! |

I think you are missing the point about the redfish at the ferry landing. It is entertaining for all of us, except you apparently, to hypothesize about how to catch these fish. I think we would all prefer to find the fish on our own and catch them with our fishing prowess. Are you so macho and insecure that you can't allow yourself to have an imagination?
P.S. Did you vote for Bush both times? |
