|
|
I'm preparing to make a trip to PINS and camp for 3 days and was wondering about bag limits on fish.
Let's say the daily bag limit on a particular fish is 3 fish per person per day. The question at hand is...how does that work If I am camping there for 3 days? Can I legally keep 9 fish(3 per day)? If the game warden walks up and sees 9 fish in the box, will he ticket me and I possibly stand a chance of losing my gear? What proof can I offer him as to the number of days I have been there? I've looked in the regulations and I can't find anything about multiple day trips pertaining to bag limits.
Can anyone help on this or offer some advice? |

Heres what TP&W says in there Book
Bag and Length Limits for Saltwater Fish
• Daily bag is the quantity of a species of a wildlife resource that may be taken in one day.
• Possession limit is twice the daily bag on game and nongame fish, except as provided in this guide.
• Possession limit does not apply to wildlife resources in the possession of or stored by a person at their
permanent residence.
• There are no bag, possession, or length limits on game or nongame fish, except as listed in this guide.
So in other words you can only have 6 reds in your possession. So you can NOT keep 9 reds, that would be a big fine if cought by TP&W.
If you have any more Question just drop me a line

Okay, I can keep 6, it doesn't matter if it's 2 days or more. Got it. I've always thought the fish had to be alive if you kept in possession. Learn something new everyday.
thanks. |

Also I believe they may have changed the flounder limits. They were talking about stopping the overnight bag limits for flounder gigging. People would go out and fish before and after midnight and come back with 20 flounder, they were going to change that to be 10 flounder per fishing trip. Havent seen the new regs yet so I dont know if they did that or not. _________________ Fishing and Kayaking its a rough life but somebody has to do it. |

| You can keep as many whiting as your little heart desires. I haven't fished the surf in a while, but whiting were always willing to cooperate if you had fishbites. |

Actually you can have 7 in the box as long as one is over 28" and has a tag on it.

Yep, This is the right idea, but I wouldn't keep one over 32" as the bigger the red gets the quality of the meat deteriorates rapidly. The meat gets tougher, drier, and less tasty as they grow older.
But you could have 7 in your possession at one time per angler.
Each angler is allowed 3 slot reds per day times two, for a possession of 6 slot reds plus one tagged oversize red.
So 3 anglers could have 21 fish in possession after 2 days on the beach.
However, remember, it will be very difficult for you too catch a limit anywhere unless you plain luck into a huge school going by, so chances are you won't have to worry about the limits anyway...
Whiting don't have any limits, and they fry up very light and tasty. Also, pompano don't have a limit either, but when the weeds are in thick, you normally don't catch them. You might though.
With the weeds coming in, don't forget to work lures around the weed patches and such, as the trout are there too. _________________ GOBZA!!!

| I just wanted to get a full understanding on the bag limit. I rarely keep any gamefish for myself but my mother may be coming along and she likes to keep a fish or two. It's better to be safe than to gearless and broke. |
