| Anybody bought one of the Yildiz over-unders from Academy. Just wondering about the quality of them and if anyone has had any problems with them. |

A buddy of mine used to shoot on the USAF skeet team and told me that those are great guns and very well made. He said they are made in turkey and are and exceptional value. I listen to him about shotguns cause he's shot so many. _________________ pir8dan

What.....nobody wants to take a Beretta SO6 into a duck blind in South Bay?
Joking aside....the only concern I would have would be parts availability should something go wrong. I shot skeet competitively for many years and have owned several Beretta O/U's. While I have had zero problems, I know that if something does go wrong there are parts available all over. If there is a problem with a stock, those are readily replaceable as well.
If you are using a Yeldiz for only the occasional hunting trip they are probably fine. If you plan to do any (semi)serious sporting clays or skeet, I would buckle down and spend the extra money for something with a proven record of long-term durability and reliability. |

Citori, great guns but not so much for the salt. I carried mine out hunting down here on the ULM once. I nearly had kittens when i opened the gun case after lunch (another lesson learned).
Since they are sold anywhere I wouldn't think parts wold be a huge problem. |

This should start a good debate....when shooting skeet there were many discussions comparing Browning to Beretta...my point was that when closing a Beretta it sounds like a bank vault....closing a Browning sounds like a can of loose change
All kidding aside...Browning are a good choice too. |

I have one of the yildiz 400 dollar models and the only problem I have had with it is if there is any dust or imperfection on the brass the shells tend to stick in the tube. If you make sure the shells and the gun are clean there are no problems and I love that gun. _________________ Learn how to Fish Hunt and Golf then work the rest of your life to pay for it |

| I have a 20 gauge Yildiz. I have had it for about 2 years now. I shoot trap and skeet at least twice a week. I normally shoot a Citori or Cynergy but from time to time I shoot the Yildiz. My son alternates between his Beretta, Citori or the Yildiz. We probably have about 12,000 rounds through it with no problems yet. Everytime it is shot I drop some Rem Oil down the pins and wipe it all down. Works great for a $400 shotgun. |

| Does your folding latch line up with the centerline of the gun or is it off to one side when the gun is closed? My, and a friends, Yildiz do not line up with the centerline when closed. Just wondering if all are the same. The picture in the manual shows it lined up straight. |

| If it is similar to Beretta's, it should line up to the right of center. Over time (and thousands of rounds), normal wear will cause the lever to shift leftward when the gun is locked. That is one of the things to look for if purchasing a used O/U. |

I have owned my 12 gauge over and under Yildiz for 3 seasons. This gun is light weight and the quality compares to any $2,500 American made over/under. The company's service is exceptional, which is more than what I can say for Academy. I had a threaded bolt on the stock wear out, because I was shooting a lot of 3" mag shells. Tried to get Acedemy to get repair, but they have a company in Houston do all repairs, so you have to ship it.
I went to the Yildiz web site, sent them an e-mail and got a e-mail reply in about 3 days.
I was amazed, not only was their rep. totally fluent in English, 3 days later, they sent me a brand new stock, via fed-ex, which fits live a glove.

Probably Briley Manufacturing. They are a great source of aftermarket products (chokes, sub-gauge tube sets, etc...). They really cater to the shooting sport associatations and are capable of making quality repairs. |
