My family and I went to SPI and spent some time on the water. First day we fished the bays for trout an reds with no luck. That afternoon I hit the beach and had my Diawa 50H nearly spooled. It burnt up the clicker on it before I could get to it an tighten the drag to set the hook. Yesterday we fished the surf again and had my 6/0 have a screaming run and then get dropped. I had a 1/4 section of jack on it so I just left it set. I tightened up the line some and as I was doing that my 4 wide went off and pulled in a nice 4-5 foot BT. I tried to release her but my pliers(cheapies) broke and before we could get the leader cut it was too late. The good thing is though some other guys there fishing wanted her and divided her amoungst themselfs. During the comotion with the BT the 6 went on another screaming run and when I picked it up and went to set the hook I felt a slap on the line then nothing. So what ever it was has a 10' leader trailing it unless it dropped it. Here are some pics of the BT and my son on the beach.

Trying to remove the hook:
