|
|
Ok, I've just purchased a new quad cab long bed Tacoma, complete with a Ziebart undercoating. I'm planning on using this new machine to fish Yarborough pass, Big Shell and maybe the Port Mansfield cut. Does anyone have suggestions (in addition to the sticky posting) as to what I need to consider carrying/adding? I plan on adding a headache rack, toolbox and making some pole holders. I'm also considering getting a wench. What to most people pull against? I figured some sort of buried board would probably be the only option.

lights, north hill or folding anchor with chain on it 75lbs class to go with winch
ranch jack the tall one, 2 8ft 2x10s shovel long handle 2 to 4 tow straps,
with all this gear you should never get stuck but if you do you can handle it.

For the price of the new Taco's, they should come with a wench that gets your beer and pumps the gas.

Damn, what they'll do to sell cars these days!! LOL.
Anyway, you need one of these if you are going to pull yours out of the sand w/your own winch.

But I'm not sure how necessary it is. The folks I've talked with that run smaller 4x4 (i.e., lighter) than full size tend to do pretty well with aired down tires. Maybe you can get away w/ a shovel, high lift jack and some carpet to use as sand ladders. _________________ Jeff

If you're going to get modifications, I'd recommend Billy & Nick at 4 Wheel Specialties in CC. They did a great job on my Jeep. Good guys, knowledgable, honest and reasonably priced. |

There are dealerships up here selling Dodge Ram for 50 to 60% off the sticker price right now. Same goes with Chevy and Fords.
A buddy at work picked up a 2008 Dodge 1500 Laramie Lone Star 4x4 for $24k. It is one really nice truck. It has everything. Now that was a deal.
Wish I was in the market for a vehicle right now. _________________ GOBZA!!!

I'd hate to see what my 07' Duramax is worth these days... |

| I have an 05 DC Tacoma. I had to get air bags for the rear suspension. When loaded down, the weak suspension bottoms out alot. The airbags work great. |
