Take a look at this one. Caught on a 3 weight, 6 foot fly rod. 2 lb tippet. Wooley Bugger. This is a fairly big Brook Trout. Hermosa Creek, North of Durango. Sorry, just had to post it up.

I used to laugh when I moved to Colorado, and people would tell me how nice a fish we were catching with these 8-10 " trout, all I was thinking was back home we'd put a hook in his back and throw him back out!

That really is a nice Brookie. You don't see those much over 7 or 8 inches. How did the rest of the trip go?

In three days of fishing I caught around 70 fish. Thats the largest Brookie and I caught two large rainbow's that thought they were tarpon. Both of those fish were around three pounds and they took me to the backing which was a first for me. The larger fish were caught on buggers and the smaller fish were hitting royal wolf drys. I did not see another fisherman on any trip. I fished North Hermosa above Purgatory and Lime creek. Both streams near 10,000'. I almost froze to death on two mornings early when it was still below 50 and I had shorts on.

I'm ready to come back to the coast now and sweat!!!!!!!!!
