Here's a report from today by Repofish:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Checked out the surf today and found it to be rough as a MF. There are at least 5 sets of breaks and it is whitecapping as far out as you can see. The waves are coming in within a second or two of each other. If you are hitting the beach this weekend-leave the yak at home because it is going to be casted baits only unless you are some kind of devil man. Lots of weed in the surf as well. Water is still fairly clear despite the heavy surf. Good luck to those that hit it this weekend. Tides are supposed to be real high and will probably approach the dunes.

On another note-checked out the packery jetties yesterday and there were about 50 or more pelicans dive bombing the first and wade gut just on the surf side of the north jetty. There was a bull red head laying on the sand that looked as if it had been chomped on by a toothy. Lots of bait there and some yahoos fishing but not under the birds. Might try that out if you are hell bent on coming down this way.

Looks like most of the sharks over the last week or so have been coming from the north end if you can manage to fight the weed off of your line.
