got out monday, just me and jp3. wish we had another angler as we lost several big fish due to triple hookups. besides the fish pictured, we caught several short amberjack, gag, and plenty of snapper.
Anybody know what kind of shark this is? Shaped like a sharpnose but was dark brown.
nice scamp
this strawberry grouper had a loop of fishing line that he'd had for a while. The jig did not hook the fish, it hooked the loop of line.
our new friend was happy to eat a bit of cut blue runner
Forgot to measure the king but weighed about 30lbs.
triggers got thick about noon...big ones too
triggerfish ceviche

| Those Triggers sure are tasty though cleaning them is like filleting a pair of Bull hide Justins. Thanks for the report! |

It's a Warbler but without the full head shot it is tough to tell which one it is. They get blown out by fronts and exhausted in their migration and often land on boats to catch their breath. |

yes that's a silky shark, not sure why it wasn't in my fish book. All three were about this size, 20-30 pounds. we were about 30 miles out. Here's another picture of the bird

They do rest on rigs......and anything else out there. These small birds (around 5") fly thousands of miles between their winter and breeding grounds each year. If they encounter bad weather, they are forced onto whatever solid structure they can find.
Can you imagine travelling those distances under your own power? How incredible is Nature. _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |
