City Manager Skip Noe said at the Town Hall Meeting this evening the Galveston Corps' District Engineer will speak to the City Council on June 13 at around 10 AM. Aside from it dealing with Packery Channel, Skip didn't know the substance of the DE's presentation. I wonder if it has anything to do with the failing revetments. I'll be a mongoose tomorrow and let you know.
Congressman Ortiz sent a June 6 letter replying to my May 15 letter, and cced Skip. It reads:

"Thank you for notifying my staff of your concerns with the Packery Channel Project. I appreciate you taking the time to share your views on this important matter.
"As a longtime member of the House Resources Committee, I indeed understand the constant struggle to maintain balance between human activity and ecological health. As such, I have worked to insure that development along the Coastal Bend provides good jobs for people, while at the same time preserving the natural beauty of the area.
"Please be advised that I will continue to monitor the progress of the Packery Channel project and work with the City of Corpus Christi and other involved parties towards its success.
"With warmest regards, I am
"Sincerely,
"Solomon P. Ortiz
Member of Congress"
