The NMFS rep on the Council Dr. Roy Crabtree has just pushed into play the rule demanding reef fish permit holders abide by the more restrictive rule be it state or federal. This will kill the for hire industry. Maybe Texas should go no take and see how he likes that as it would shut his fishery down. lol

This is a serious matter as this will hit Texas Charter Fleets very hard while the Commercial Boys fish 365 days a year never seeming to hit their IFQ shares. I guess losing the Charter fleet is what some folks are pushing for. We believe the 86% of Indlanders should have a Taxi to fish their resource.

The full Gulf Council will vote Thursday. If the plan moves forward there will be public hearings. I believe the Texas one will be in Port Aransas
should this go forward as we expect it to.
