Texas Parks and Wildlife heard us loud and clear. Today the Commissioners voted to not accept Federal limits in Texas Territorial
Waters. We dodged a big bullet today as this would have been devastating to Texans.
The RFA helped rally the troops to win the battle. We were the only National Recreational Fishing .Org to stand with Texas Recreational Anglers and Texas Parks and Wildlife to simply say no to the Feds.
The enviros were stunned we won. Those wanting to force Federal Regs in Texas Territorial Waters were Ocean Conservancy, Environmental Defense and CCA.
Had they have won we would be saddled with zero Blacktip Shark and 2 Red Snapper with a hundred twenty two day season.
I want to thank each and every one of you that attended a scoping meeting.

Thank you Jim, and thanks to all those who attended the meetings.
I was surprised at who was on the other side of this issue. Especially since I recently joined the CCA in order to do my tiny bit towards helping protect our coastal fishing.
I certainly didn't agree with them this time.

I agree with seaweed. Could not attend the meetings because of life in general but am eternally greatful to all of you who took the time and spoke up. I know the CCA is trying to do a good thing but, like seaweed, I am a brand new member and did not know thier position on this issue. I will have to do more research before I renew my membership.

| We are equal in the fight CC. There are no little people just Recreational Fishermen trying to maintain a fair and balanced fishery for all. Every vote counts with us. |
