I’ll tell you Ezmony, tomorrow low tide is mid day. If I were down there, I would be at Mansfield pass with fresh shrimp in the water by 10 or 11 with a rain coat on, a bunch of fire-wood, and some good tequila, to fish the tide change. You all will enjoy. No telling what you'll catch.
Like a friend of mine told me when I moved to Seattle; if you sit around and wait for it to quit raining, you will move back in 6 weeks. The best time to go fishing is when you have time. |

| We actually lived on the peninsula across from Tacoma. Puget Sound was amazing. We were fortunately able to have a nice boat at a time when Bowing was laying off 10,000 people at a time, from 1982 ‘till 1986. Some sights I’ll never forget; huge pods of Orcas, schools of pilot whales in the thousands, so many herring gulls on the water that it looked like ice, King salmon, Silver salmon, Coho Salmon, Steelhead and Cutthroat Trout. We never caught the same thing twice. The tide moved 13 feet from hi to low. When it ran through the Narrows, you could see several 3’ waves as it dropped. The center would be running one way while the edges were still running the other way. Mt. Rainer, as many miles as it was away, 150 or so, looked like it was just around the corner with a blizzard blowing off the top for as many miles as you can see in August while taking in the 80 degree sun on the beach. One could go any time to the lochs and see so many salmon. My sister that still lives there says you have to know when they run just to see them. It’s been 20 years. I would love to compare it now to Corpus. I think it was the 1990 earthquake in San Francisco that moved so many people to Seattle. That was a bad one. It’s still a place I would recommend doing the Olympia to Shelton drift through the 100’ tall cut some September. I could go on and on. |

The way the weather looks i'd say the best fishing might be at the laguna reef resturant. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

| A normal day on Puget Sound is; water temp 55, air 50, 20mph wind, and raining. With the exception of water temp, I have caught slot reds from the beach in Corpus under the same conditions but with the water brown out as far as you could see. It’s all what your acclimated to. Poor guys down in Corpus, only get to go fishing when it’ perfect outside. Or like me, when your wife lets you. The best time to fish is when you have time. |

yes we are guilty of being able to pick the best days to fish. I wouldnt have it any other way. However if I live "up north" i would just have to deal with the elements while catching fish. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED.

Go to the Port A south jetty and hide behind one of the rocks, fish the surf, there is always a fish to be caught.
Larry, spent three years in the Northwest from 81 to 84 and love every bit of the time I spent there. |
