A couple of friends and I headed out from Texas A&M-Kingsville to Wilson's Cut early Saturday morning. We were in the kayaks by sunrise. We made about a 2 mile paddle east into the workings of Shamrock cove. We drifted some and waded some. Caught about 20 reds (about 15 in the slot) and 4 trout. We only kept our limits of reds. The biggest red was 25". The big trout were 28" and 25". The 25" was fat!!! The other two trout were right at 15". We also caught some small flounder and a nice one got off at the boat. We used all artificial, mainly soft plastics. Great day on the water. But it was hell paddling back into the 20mph wind. I am sore today! Oh yeah, no fish were caught untill 9am. We stayed untill about 3pm.

Sure beats spending the day studying Very Happy - nice trout, too. That big one is worthy of a wall mount.
