Anyone know anywhere I could get a gun Teflon Coated? I have a Browning 10 gauge BPS that I need to get T coated....It rusts VERY fast if I ever bring it in the marsh on the coast with me to shoot geese....

Don't know about Teflon, but, have you considered having it coated with camo? Stocks, barrels, receivers, etc...can be "dipped" in various camo patterns. The camo coating is very resistant.

Here is something else to look at. Probably not what you are looking for but hey, down here in the salt you should take what you can get right?

My concern with the tape would be the tiny areas the salt will get into anyway.

As bad as I hate to admit it I am begining to think the way to go is with a dependable inexpensive gun. 870 express of the like.

Save the nice guns for fresh water or dove.

I'd agree with that, but man it sure is nice to have a good gun to put the ducks down with. That's why I picked my gun. I didn't spend an arm and a leg on it, but it's a good gun and the camo wrap/paint does help protect it. Saltwater sure is unforgiving though.

With all of that said I have hunted with a 870 and/or a Nova for the past 8+ years. I decided to treat myslef to what I thought was the ultimate duck gun....The coveted Super Black Eagle II. Well well well.....Right out of the gate opening morning I had 4 miss fires with 2 different shell manufacturers. Sundy morning 2 more dry fires.....While hunting Sunday morning I also noitced a decent amount of rust on the action.....Bennelli's arent supposed to rust is what was in my mind!! Evil or Very Mad

This is where I take my hat off to Cabelas. I called them an spoke with the firearms manager and his exact words were" That is bu&^%$, bring it back and we will give you a brand new one or you can swap it out for equal or lesser value, a total refund, or upgrade to whatever you want".

With that said 2 of the guys I was hunting with were shooting SBE II's with absolutely ZERO problems.....So I am undecided on what to do...
I am still trying to make my decision b/c I am overseas at the moment

Any thoughts? Comments? Anyone else shooting a SBE II?

I have heard the same regarding the SBEII's, they are supposed to be great guns. With that said....my Extrema is a duck killin' machine that has never missed a beat. I've used anything from light target loads to 3.5" 2oz. monster goose loads and it just keeps em' cycling. The only thing I had to adjust was the stock because it was way too low for me out of the box. I've used it in the salt too and no signs of rust...but I'm a maintenance freak so go figure.

First off, I'm glad you feel the same way about Cabelas as I do. They may cost a little more, but there's a reason. Top-notch.

Now about the gun. I am no expert on guns, but in my honest opinion I think you should give it a second chance. You ponied up all that dough for that gun - don't you wanna know that it's worth the money they charged you for it? I know I would. On the other hand, you could get a gun that doesn't cost as much and use the money for some gear. Cool Everyone loves new gear right? And you get a gun you don't have to worry so much about (like whether or not it's worth what you paid for it and what's gonna happen in the salt). I have a Benelli SuperNova and I love it. Never had any problems.

Thats a real tuff call. My experience with a gun I had problems with was I never really felt comfortable with it. Went with a different model from the same brand.
