Well, as some of you may remember I posted a couple of weeks ago and left pics of my Jeep. Today I made my first trip to PINS by myself. Been a long time getting back. Only caught some whiting and a couple of small reds but it was awesome just to be back. There's no place like it in the world for me. I am still tesing myself driving down there, of course the conditions were excellent for driving today but I put myself in some soft stuff purposely to see how I would handle it. And you know what, This old lady is going to do just fine. The Jeep handles great. Only went a short ways in but week by week I will venture farther. Who knows, maybe one day I will get all the way down.

The weed wasn't bad at all, not like I expected. Found much much less than the last time I was out

We saw you as we were going down. You did fine. My wife noticed your set up and liked it. You did better than us with the reds.

We have the green ford with the tent in the bed.

Keep up the good work

Was that you in the champagne colored Cherokee? I was down in the "new" old White Suburban. I managed a big whiting on cut skipjack, and a skipjack and one 20" trout though I did lose a good one on the way in on a topwater.

Yep, that was me in the champagne colored Cherokee, I saw both your vehicles going down. Please stop and say hello next time, I would love to meet you. That was as far as I dared venture my first time out. Next time will be much farther. We used to fish around the high bank. Isn't that about 25 miles down?

Will do I thought I might look like an idiot if I pulled over and it was someone else. Guess I shouldn't worry about it. That Cherokee is nice looking!

Glad you did okay out there! Maybe when we get a chance to get out on the beach we will see ya! I drive a silver Durango with a "Fancy" SFCCI" sticker on back.

Thanks for all the replies, would like to meet all of you. Please stop anytime you see the Cherokee. I will try to go most weekends but must miss a few now and then. Work and housework and yardwork sometimes takes presidence. If you need any attention to your vehicles battery, alternator or starter stop by and see me at Texas Battery on Ayers.

I know the place. My uncle, John Boyd, manages TC's (who's like another uncle) over on Airline, and they sent me over for some alternator work a few years back when I had my Beretta. Freindly people, great service.

Big John, I talk to your uncle quite often. He's a nice guy, isn't it a small world.

Hey Sugarbaby,
Shore Fishing & Casting Club International (SFCCI) is having a get2gether this weekend down the beach. Check their website between now and then for the exact loaction - probably in the Big-Shell area - but check to be sure. I've been a member for about 3 years and have learned more about surf fishing than I can describe. The big "plus" about this outfit is the quality of the people you will meet. Please stop by their big white shelter with the SFCCI banner anytime. About noon Saturday the 26th we will have a big pot of Cajun Gumbo and I've got a bowl with your name on it.
Hope to meet ya'll there.
