My annual 60 hr tuna trip is in the books! We got a limit to cover 25 fishermen and 5 crew members. 90 YFT. They were running a little smallish though. In my 23 years of doing these trips I've never seen this many small Yellowfin caught. My 3 were 40, 40 and 45.. And the food we brought .... smoked ribs, pork and brisket to die for. Nilgai fried rice, desserts, banana bread, etc. I think I gained 5 lbs.

Most of this group has been doing there together for 14-15 years. We lost a member to go with the Lord last spring and he wanted his ashes cast at Perdido. we caught all of the tuna within casting distance of where his ashes were cast. That gives me goosebumps.

Great trip - glad you got into them. My two sons and I were supposed to go with DSH at the end of Oct on a 36 hr, but it got cancelled due to bad weather and we're now scheduled to go Nov 29-30. Hope we see close to the numbers that you saw.

Did you have a lot of folks throwing poppers, Halcos, or were they chunking? Just curious what they were biting most on.

There were some firsts on this trip. We caught the limit of YF early so we decided to go deep dropping at Dutra. We got 123 Barrellfish. And other critters. Some were jigging in 1200' of water. I'm here to tell you that Barrellfish is serious eating.
