Monday I went by West Marine in Austin in the early afternoon and they were closed! On the door was a sign which said they were only open on Sundays and Mondays, but not this Monday I guess. I frequented the store many times over the last 20-30 years, but not recently, so it was quite a surprise to find them closed.
My experience made me wonder if the Corpus Christi store has strange operating hours these days? It's been a couple of weeks since I was there, so I've not been to their store lately.
The store in Austin is not located as well as the Corpus Store, so maybe business has not been good for them?

I don't think they are long for this world, that's been going on a while. I think South Austin Marine and Amazon killed them. Both are cheaper and have stuff in stock.

Every damn time I went in that store for something it was always "we can order that for you"

Website shows the Austin one closed Sunday and Monday and Open all other days. Corpus is still open everyday, I frequent the store.

Side note, they will price match in stock items sold and shipped by Amazon. I use this routinely for Ancor wire and get it for 1/3-1/2 price. All of their employees are aware of this policy and have no issues giving the price match.

Best Buy does the same, just FYI.
