Often when I go down Rodfield and look at that little daycare center I think about going into the Full Stringer and eating peanuts and talking to Mike. The good old days |

I heard a rumor that C&W's may be reopening at some point, after they get the marina dredged and docks rebuilt

C&W is located at the intersection of Yorktown with Laguna Shores? |

I heard they put in for a zoning change to build an RV park along with the marina boat launch. |

they did and it was approved...zoned for RV's now (it wasn't before! it was actually zoned for single family homes, lol - they cleaned that up).
they approached the TGLO about permits for dredging and getting things going, so hopefully they will move the ball

That would the a great location imho.
I'm assuming it'll end up being a pay location, if not membership as well..
I still don't understand from all these previous conversations here, how BL can close off a GLO boat ramp?
Did they lease it from GLO or something? _________________ Steve-O

O.K., I recall the zoning notices posted onsite, so it is at the intersection of Laguna Shores and Yorktown. Just for those like myself who don't know the history of Flourbluff past the last few years. |

In another loss to the Laguna Shores/Tropic Isles Entertainment District, Stripes on Laguna Shores has permanently closed. Not sure if they ever removed the fuel tanks underground when they quit selling gas a few years ago, but those likely will need removed if they sell the land. Flour Bluff institutions, one by one they go. _________________ "In your guts you know he's nuts" |

This is sad, however the building is about 2000-2400 sf, has a rest room if not two, and a good parking lot, so if the tanks have been removed I would think it could easily be repurposed for food or otherwise. Not having gasoline at a convenience store in this fluxuating gasoline market is difficult at best. The local gasoline distributors seem to hold their prices pretty high, thus a retailer probably doesn't have much room for markups and making higher volumes more necessary. Gasoline is typically $.25 or more per gallon in Corpus Christi versus many other areas of central Texas for some reason which is probably due to what the distributors are charging their retailers. |

they haven't had gas in three years....yes, they pulled the tanks out because they were leaking...
and yes, it's a shame

C&W's may be a pay location, but I'll gladly throw them a $20 spot
The TGLO doesn't own the launch...it conveyed with the deed...senor pen-day-ho wants a private launch for him and his three friends from austin because he likes to beat on his chest like he's the man the controls the universe...

7-11 and Sunoco own the land directly next to the Laguna Shores Stripes. I bet something happens there at some point. |

Maybe they are planning a small strip center there with gasoline? If so, it's probably in the planning and zoning phase? |

nothing out of the ordinary with the planning commission....the second Moore Plaza is going to be called the Roy Smith Plaza...it's that field east of rodd field that fronts SPID all the way down to Lexington...
looks like it failed the first go-around but will be on the agenda for the next planning commission meeting
