Steve came over and help me get the power pole working again. Took him out to see if we can find a few fish late afternoon and I don't know how many we caught but here's a nice 20-incher that was caught by Steve.

Guess I got promoted
Seriously though, The amount I learned in just a couple hours from Zia FAR outweighed any work I put in to fixing the power pole issue.
It would have taken me a long time to put together the knowledge Zia imparted on me in a short period of time.
Plus he's great people as well.
Glad to have met you and let me know anytime I can help you out!

| Well, "Captain America" is applicable, because he did what all of us American's should be willing to do in helping his neighbor. You've had a problem with that PP for some time, and hopefully it's fixed for a while. Where is that mechanical son when you need him? |

Power poles are challenging to really like. When they work, they are great. I've got one that deploys everytime I turn the batteries on. Hit it to raise/come up, and it does most of the time, and does OK after that. Not great, but works OK. It saved me once by self-deploying after I got out on shore to save a dog in the canal, and my boat floated away. It was cold, and I did not want to swim, but I would have, except a good hearted neighbor (Sergio), got in his kayak and got in my boat, found the fob, and raised the pole. It deployed again. Again he raised it and paddled over to get me. It has been mostly OK for a while, but will raised incrementally when holding a spot, so I have to watch (and listen), or I will wash into the bank. I think I am on my second circuit board (free from PowerPole), so the company is nice to work with. _________________ "In your guts you know he's nuts" |

Contrary to Rxfire's experience, I bought my 6' Power Pole(the original unit) in a CCA banquet silent auction years ago, and installed it myself. I destroyed the fiberglass pole before I ever installed the hydraulics and when I told the manufacturer what I had done they said, "no worry, we will have a new one to you tomorrow, because the fiberglass pole is lifetime guaranteed"! I've had one other problem in my 15 year ownership and I was able to repair it with Power Pole's help. They have one of the best customer support efforts in the marine industry, if not the best. The only thing I would change about the Power Pole is to change to an 8' unit, but I've only need a longer pole a couple of times. |

Steve was a freshwater fisherman for a long time. Went to the coast on fishing trips once in a while. He sold his house around the Austin area and bought a place at the coast. I plan to do the same in another year. The saltwater calls me.
I threw a Bassorama camp-out and fishing tournament on Lake Buchanan for 30 years. Hew was there most of the time with his brother Brad.

Ha! Hey Marshall long time bud!
Come on down, I got space, a dock and a marina round the corner now!
PS, you forget to mention that someone on my boats, used to win the Bassorama about 70% of the time towards the latter years
Those were some damn good times! _________________ Steve-O
