Had a great day and more ways than fishing. Got to spin several hours with my great grandkids and we fished off the dock and did a lot of great grandpa great-grandson type of things. When they left though I needed some r&r and I jumped in the boat. Tried a few spots with no luck and I was heading to one area when I get a call from my son. I answered the phone and put down my power pole so I didn't drift out of the area where I wanted to fish. First cast after I hung up get a good hit it was a 22" inch trout.

A couple casts later I pick up an 18" and a 15". I was just ready to pull up the power pole when I get a hit and when I go to set the hook there was no movement. All of a sudden line starts stripping with the typical tug tug tug of a drum. Wound up bringing in a 28 in.

Made a few more casts and nothing so I pulled up the power pole and drifted. Didn't go more than about 10 yd when I get another hit. Felt like another drum so I reached around while fighting the fish and lowered the power pole again. This time it's a 26 incher.

.

Then another that went 27.

.

After catching and releasing five big drum and four nice trout hit it on in. Like I said it was a great day. Got to play with the great grandkids and catch a bunch of fish

That's awesome! Those black drum really can pull and put a good whoopin on you after a few on lightish tackle.

By the way, I forgot to mention that all were caught in about two and a half feet of water
