Looked at the menu of the new lookout restaurant at the bluff Marina and looks like I won't be eating there. Prices are out of my range. For example a half a pound of you peel and shrimp is $18. Shrimp gumbo 30. Scallops 30. Seared duck 44. The bluff Burger which is just meat lettuce tomato pickles $16. Cheese add another dollar, avocado $2.

Are they open?

Maybe they should wait until Laguna Shores is finished so the Bentley's and Maserati's can come on a booze cruise and eat.

It is what happens when real estate speculators and flippers want more money for their investment. They have to find someone willing to pay the higher rent (if that is really why Laguna Reef closed).

We ate lunch one day at the Landing across the street with the breeze blowing thru the place. Supposed to have same staff?? Had smoked Tuna sandwich (they smoke their own on the BBQ smoker) and a brisket sandwich with slaw. Both were great, though $15 each.

When restaurants are about to open for the first time they usually invite friends and family to come taste their menu, so they can make changes where warranted, so that is probably what we have observed over the past few days. I too noticed there was no grilled fish on the menu. Kind of strange for the prices they plan to charge. Maybe when it changes hands again they will get it right? We should not have long to wait for the change. Cool At least from what I have been told, the restaurant and real estate are owned by the marina, and they have hired a chef, so it probably means they are making some of the decisions on the menu, which probably a big mistake. I've dealt with restaurants my entire business career and it takes a unique and hard working person to put together a successful one. I hope it works for them.

Now that the "Lookout at Bluff's Landing has been open a while can anyone give us an ideal what one might experience in quality of food and service?

Actually ate there last night. Luckily the wife's company was paying but my cioppino was awesome ($23), it had nice amount of seafood and a house made chorizo. My wife's ceviche tasted very fresh but not a whole lot of flavor ($20). Everyone else had coconut shrimp and really liked them. We picked up our drinks and the margaritas were good but 6 small ones were almost $80. They really put a lot of work into the place and it looks great but can't eat there too often at those prices. We cruised over by boat and the moon was phenomenal, nice night.

thanks for the detailed report, and yes, the moon was awesome....however, sometimes I'd rather drive the laguna with a new moon...

Please give them a chance to adjust pricing after a few months. Food is going through the roof:
Wings, crab and some beef have doubled in cost

review them in 60 days not during there soft opening
we need them to make it

If you have not eaten in the restaurant and got the full dining experience so you can write a fair and knollegable complete review. Please support local business and stop posting negative uninformed comments based upon sticker shock

Just compare your grocery bill today to two months ago . We are buying the same things, But I don't know about you but I'm paying 30% more at checkout. And I still have to cook and clean!
