|
|
After four long years the Marine Corps gave my son back and Saturday we headed to the bay to chase redfish along some shallow shorelines. October did not disappoint. It didn't take long for us to find a few, and he started catching fish. His first sight-casted red was a beautiful 27.5" fish. I couldn't imagine a better introduction. We spent the morning catching fish and learning to read the signs, differentiating between mullet and redfish wakes. We each blew several good opportunities but he could see that it's all a part of a good day's fishing. Matthew seems to be a pretty quick study, and the only thing better than a flat full of feeding fish is having him back safe and sound. I'll treasure these memories for a long time.
