I went out shortly after noon planning on trying a bunch of different spots see where the fish might be. Get out to about the 3 minute hole and I was wondering how much gas I have. Gas gauge doesn't work so I carry a stick with me with a mark on it for full etc. Put it down when I took it out I had less than a quarter of a tank. Damn, not going to be able to go many places. Stayed out for less than an hour and came home. This picture is a 26-incher. First of four keepers that I released.

Went out for a couple hours today and the bite was extremely slow. Did not catch a keeper. Only about 12 or so undersized trout |

I tried this morning as well in the kayak. Same issue. Slow bite and small fish when they did bite. Tried deep water, shallow water. Mostly a bit of exercise is what it turned out to be. |

Is that one of those stink baits hanging out of the 26"er's mouth, and fished below a rattle cork? |

One of my senior moments would not produce the word Gulp! However, a 26" trout was quite an accomplishment on a day most had trouble catching any. Reminds me of the old timers talking about using cut mullet on the bottom for the big trout. my not being much of a bait user I've never tried it, only heard of it several times by those talking about how their fathers or grandfathers fished. |
