I finally may have a chance to hit the beach this weekend, with the kids as C*&^D has kept us busy at work. With that said does anyone have any idea if a pomp window may be present Sat? Would like to try and catch some as I never have or had them to eat. Don't care if not still going to wet a line somewhere.
Any recommendations lol. _________________ Shane |

Taking a quick look at the charts, i would say it doesnt look good. Surf for saturday looks to be 2-4 foot, a pomp window usually will look like 1 foot or so - the hard cores should be posting on the FB fishing pages as well as here, hopefully they will be around the next couple days. In reading same, seems like there are more than usual slot size drum out there - i saw several icechests that had a pomp or two, but quite a few decent black drum as well as my favorite - whiting and redfish in there as well. I wont be getting out until at least end of the month or better. When I do get out there, just getting my feet on the sand will probably get a yell you will be able to hear back at your work, where ever that might be, like you said, ' wet a line somewhere'. _________________ Don - permanent prescription of salt water therapy. |

Pack a jacket, as it will be pretty cold overnight. Once the Sun is up, it ought to be nice tomorrow, and I'm hoping the strong N winds of today lay down. Only negative I see for a PINS trip is the amount of drift algae washing in right now. May make keeping lines out past the 2nd bar tough.
But good luck and enjoy the sand. |

Thanks for the advice. Should be a nice day on the sand. We won't be real worried about catching fish this trip. My buddies been stuck at the house for awhile after back surgery and needed to get out. We are in stands at my lease now watching deer and pins tomorrow! Who needs to catch fish or kill a critter anyway. Life is good! |

| Went out to the end of Whitecap around 3pm. Looked great from the car. Haven't looked at weather or tides or anything like that. Just a report from what the surf looked like at that time. I used to rely on this site heavily while making decisions to come down or not and now that I live a mile away returning the favor. |

With work and staff shortages I have not had a chance to hunt or fish. Seen many a nice buck killed at the ranch this year but one went once myself and my son got his first doe. _________________ Shane |

We got on the sand about 1230 or 1. Beautiful weather, fantastic driving, but the pomps didn't cooperate. We caught some whiting and thats about it. We fished around the 23, 20, 18, and 13ish.
We did swing by packery right at dark and drug a couple sheepshead out. Was a great day even though the fish didn't cooperate. Good luck if you get out there. |

And now for my CS beachcombing report. Not a single bean of any type and no out of the normal shells. I always try and bring momma home at least one hamburger bean and struck out this trip. Beautiful day to be on the sand though! |

Glad you had a quality trip, conditions-wise, but don't feel bad. It's been bean-less for months now.... Only thing I found today at lunch, north of Packery, was 2 old quarters, and 1 penny. So, at least I got 51 cents to add to the money jar. [How about them super-low tides, eh?!?!]. |
