Whilst enjoying some good rum, good cigars and great conversation with an old surfer/fisherman friend of mine this evening, the question "which direction do a majority of the migrating redfish go after getting into the GoM" was posed. After some interesting discussion and totally unscientific theories, we both settled on this answer: they follow the southbound migrating mullet.
So, sans the rum and cigars, I pose the same question to the members of this board. What say ye, board?
BTW, the PINS surf cam shows conditions that are mighty tempting for a visit and some fishing tomorrow. _________________ HooYah!

Got south of Bob Hall at the crack of around 7pm last night and missed the red bite. Zep and Rachel got two and a nice spanish mack. The mosquito bite at dark was insane! _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

My totally unscientific theory would be the reds migrate out deeper just because I've caught some oversize reds at the deeper rigs in state waters. But, I like the idea they follow the food train because I definitely migrate from the couch to the refrigerator in the same way _________________ kick your shoes off and cast a line |
