Was going thru boat other day noticed knuckle top of my left power pole was cracked. Talked with Todd JL marine new one put in mail same day. As far as customer service goes these guys rock. Always on spot and warranty is second to none.

| I totally agree. I've had several issues with my power pole lately and they took care of things right away. Even sent me several parts without charge. Will not hesitate to use them at all in the future |

My experience is the same as the two of you have experienced. If all manufacturers backed their products the same way PP does life would be much easier and much more fun! |

| You've got that right, Bayfly. I need to call them today too with a technical question. Everyday when I go out and look at my boat my power pole has dropped about 6 inches. I checked the connections coming out of the motor and they're tight. Don't know why it's going down every night. |

Ok first check your hoses coming out of pump, wipe em off especially where connected into pump. Ok now lower your pole enough so i can get in and see your actual hydraulic cylinder. Check it for moisture, rust on rod, and see if top seal wiper seal is leaking. Clean it off lower n raise it after you cleaned it see if you have any leakage. I use the blue shop towels because fluids show well on it. Rust or any debris on the actual cylinder arm can cause leaks like on steering on a boat. If nothing move on to your relay and if you have a remote relay when they start to go out or are out can cause issues also. Send a pic would help. Been workin on these dang things for years for just about everyone i know be glad to help _________________ Long time avid fisherman rod builder. |

As we know boat guys most tilt, trim, steering fluids are clear. Also ram on piston the shiny part that comes out of the cylinder is important nicks grooves rust and all will cause seal failure. I forgot to ask is this doing this with your power main off. Im assuming you have a perko switch or some type of main control for power. Another problem could be internal leakage in flow valves. Like hydraulic steering power pole pumps can be dismantled somewhat if its internal check valves failing maybe o rings id have to know whst type of pump you have c monster ect.. to get deeper into a rebuild or fix. Let me know if i can help. If u have debris on ram nicks burrs rust u can clean it with emory cloth just be sure to clean afer doind this also i like to keep a light oil i drip on my steering ones at front before i operate just to keep shaft slick and clean it regularly. _________________ Long time avid fisherman rod builder. |
