The wife and I headed south this morning at sunrise to a spot I usually wade in the twin palms area and decided to make a few drifts. It was slow, as was the wind speed which made drifting difficult. The cooler air this morning was great. We ended up picking up 4 trout up to 22.5 inches.

We actually caught 2 of them. They unfortunately were both hooked deep and bleeding a lot so in to the cooler they went. Once the wind died, we ran back to the undeveloped canals on the north end of nighthawk. We swam around for a bit and had a fun time.

Then the wind picked up ever so slightly so we went to the edge of emmords to pick up a few more trout. Found a few to finish up my limit and also picked up a few nice reds.

Wound up with a nice stringer and some much needed us time!

My usual. Kwiggler Ball Tail in Mansfield Margarita color. I did change it up by using a rattling 1/16 ounce jighead.
