What I thought was going to be an easy chore turned out to be anything but. I removed the tow hook from the front of my 2010 Silverado and was going to replace it with a receiver hitch to put my fishing basket in. Turns out there's another bolt in there coming from somewhere up on top and I have no idea how to circumnavigate the situation. Any welders out there that can give me suggestions I will bring the truck by and have you look at it and see what we can come up with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How many of you immediately thought of Stan before reality quickly returned? I sure did.

Yep! When Stan was around, nobody on the forum had to ask that question...

I only met the guy couple of times during his famous fish fry's. But, I will never forget him and what a great person he was.

yeah, I miss my buddy Stan as well...

if you got the right draw tight, then you re-use the same bolt holes that held your tow hooks on...

hint: go in from the front...

Yeah Becky that's what I was looking at but there's problems there. Bolt coming from the top making it less than 2 in to be able to fit in the receiver in

haha! I didn't say it was easy! there's some juggling involved...I used a jack to hold the hitch up under the truck in the right spot so I could use both hands to line the bolts up and get them started...
