We are planning our annual 10 day Camping trip to PINS. I noticed that the potable water And dump station is closed. We will be bringing as much water as we can carry but will run out about halfway through our trip. Suggestions on getting potable water?

If you are down the island, there is none. You will need to drive back into the community there on the island, we call it north padre island - or go over the causeway to flour bluff. There was water available at the PINS camp grounds, but the last I heard is that it was shut down, this is those camp sites up just this side of the dunes, between the entry shack and the ranger headquarters, thats where I used to water up on my pins trips with my motor home - but last I heard like i said, it was not available. 10 days on the sand is one hell of a long time - sounds f great but like you said, you gotta find agua. potable agua.

I haven't used it in over a year, but there used to be a potable line right by the pavilion picnic tables that are right next to the Malachite parking lot. Not the tables that look nice, but, literally standing in the middle of the parking lot, facing the main pavilion, look ALL THE WAY to your left. Not sure if those are the ones Donnie is referring to being shut down or not.

Maybe next to the outdoor showers on the far edge of the parking lot?

We all feel your pain, especially us locals that rely on oil, tourism, and fishing profits for our economy to succeed. We're literally living off oil profits for the next ~3-5 years now.

Communities like Port A, AP, Rockport, etc - are affected by this too, and they're still recovering from Harvey. Imagine if CC feels the pain it has, what they feel must be 10x worse. #CostalBendStrong
