OK if you are not wearing a mask and you are around other people indoors...you are putting them at risk. I have a medical grade mask because I work in the medical field...but most people do not...Only good medical grade masks really protect you from others much. A little old lady in her cloth mask is not going to farewell against someone with coronavirus breathing on her from behind with no mask on. So you are not just wearing it just for yourself...you are wearing it for the people you are trying to protect around you. I try to protect people all day in the clinic...and then when I go outside in the outside world and people are not wearing their mask at all indoors...I question How I can even help people at my work. It is really not political...this virus will get you no matter who you voted for. I read a recent study that when people are in a room together and both are wearing a mask transmission of this virus is cut by 95%. I wish I knew how to cut the risk of some other diseases finally 95%. OK

Surgical and N95 masks, both of which are in short supply, provide between 90% and 95% protection based on differing studies. However, few people have access to or utilize these types of masks in public. The popular cheap cloth masks or a simple cloth face covering has virtually zero protection against virus transmission based on the same studies. These requirements all political and an attempt to desensitize people to being controlled by politicians.

In April, when Governor Abbott proposed to Re-Open, or Open Up Texas, he stated:

"If you were to go back earlier in the April timeframe, you would have seen that the positivity test rate was closer to 10%. In fact, sometimes over 10%," Abbott said. "If the positivity test rate is more than 10%, that's one of those red flags that we begin to look at, not if it's just a one-off day of testing more than 10% positive, but if there are multiple days that a trend line begins."

Friday the 7 day average "Positivity Rate" was 10%. Yesterday (Saturday, June 20), the 7 day average "Positivity Rate" was 10.7%.

Since it has been obvious the CCP Virus was present in the USA I have watched the total infection numbers, and especially in Texas and more specifically between Corpus Christi and Austin. This is due to my traveling between the two cities frequently, and staying in each for varying periods of time. What I've observed the last couple of weeks is the total infections in CC has doubled, and the rate of increase appears to be increasing. In the beginning the cases were very slow to mount up, but that seems to be history. I would love to see reports of infections reported as compared to total population, thus we could compare the rate of infection changes in areas much easier.

What I think would be appropriate, is a list of new daily cases in Metropolitan Areas, rather than counties. Unfortunately, I have not found that compiled data.

Here is a link to Texas new daily cases, and over on the left you can select each county to see their cases. Again, I do not think the county data shows the entire area like we would want, but it is all I have found.

Also, this link is sometimes days late to update totals for Texas, but shows new cases, and number of tests taken daily. If you hover the mouse cursor over the vertical graphs (each day), new cases, test numbers, and 7-day average moving Positivity Rate will pop up for each day:

Nueces County Health Department breaks the information down by zip code at this site:https://corpus.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/fe742480193d4fff98f7af38c5104cfc,
and possibly other counties do the same?

Some counties break it down by zip codes, or "Municipalities" that are towns that also include rural areas due to mail deliveries tied to towns.

But I have not seen that data expressed as a a percent of total population in those zip codes.

Yesterday Texas performed a record number of tests (62,782 tests), and the rolling 7-day average was still above 10% at 10.3%.

I think our Governor is set to speak at 2 pm today, and I bet dollars to doughnuts that he talks more about hospitalization rates than Positivity Rates (changes the metric).

It transfers risk to the population at whole, and especially to healthcare workers, when folks say "there is a hospital bed for every sick person that needs it (and a ventilator on standby)". Doctors and nurses and respiratory therapists have to be tired of prioritizing treatment over prevention.

I have not heard any news about "Contact Tracers" in our area.

"tired of prioritizing treatment over prevention" Maybe a better word for prevention might be delay, because there is no prevention.
