My first question; can anybody suggest an affordable boat slip? I need a place to store my 22 footer.

I will have to get the hull painted, but I would spring for a lift-slot, if it were the right price.

Thanks in advance!

What is your location? Rockport? Corpus? Flour Bluff? Padre Island? Port A?

Call and ask prices (and ask about security!)

Clem's Marina Padre Island under JFK Causeway

Bluff Landing Marina at end of Laguna Shores in Flour Bluff ($300/month last I heard)

Others? Help me somebody!

Maybe your term "slip" answers my question, but do you want only to store the boat on the water or is storing on a trailer in a boat barn acceptable? Both alternatives have their advantages and disadvantages.

I'm in Flour Bluff, but I'm not afraid of a drive...

I might go this route; I would like to enter my boat and go, but I am not a rich man!

There are storage facilities near HEB which have a boat washing area for all renters, but I have never inquired about the stalls, so I don't know anything about the price or other amenities. However, I rented a 30' boat stall in Port Aransas for approximately 15 years which had power and water in the stall, the pavement was concrete, and there was good security lighting. It's been 5 years since I rented there, but the cost at the time was approximately $1500.00 annually and you pay once a year. The place was always clean, and there was never any problems with thief. No refrigerators or freezers were allowed in the stalls.
After thinking about my reply, I thought I should add my cost was justified, because I was able to forgo trailering the rig from Austin and the wear and tare on the car and trailer which was to me was a payout. However, if one is living in the CC area I don't think the cost would be as appealing.

1500 a year sounds pretty good to me, I will look around and see what is out there.

Thanks for the replies

My landlord was R. Mark Grosse Real Estate, 361-749-6603. I have not rented from him for the last 5 years, and the location was just off the highway going into Port A. Mark has more than one storage stall location in Port A, so he may can give you a range depending on location and amenities.

You said you're not afraid of a drive. Long way from you. but San Patricio Nav District has slips, most with lifts, in Aransas Pass on Ransom Road. What seemed cheap to me. Call & ask. Great fishing all around there. Two minutes off the ICW. TexasJim
