Got a late start this morning but finally got to Clem's about 8:30am for some live shrimp and headed my truck to the North packery channel. Water wasn't perfect but it looked fishable. Walked about half way out and gave my lemon rig and live shrimp a try. Nada... So I moved out almost to the end to one of my favorite spots. Made a cast on the channel side and caught a Skipjack. Next cast I saw a school of pony mullet so I pitched it right in the middle of them. Bang a nice trout... That was the pattern, trout were laying under the schools of mullet moving through the channel. Caught 13 between 9:30am and 1:15pm. Every time I could get my shrimp under a school of mullet I'd catch a fish. I retain 8 between17-20 inches...
Note: I tried to stop at 5 but I'll need a little more training before I can make that happen...
