Saw an article on Island Moon's facebook page by Dale Patterson about his time on the island and his friend Louis Rawalt catching a 50 plus pound snook, thought it must be a typo, but looked it up on the Texas state records. Sure enough it's there, a 57.5 lb snook caught on Jan 1, 1937, no length listed. Dang that's a mighty big snook coming from Texas waters. Hope to catch one 1/10 that size next week when I finally get my vacation to get salty.

Louis Rawalt caught that big Snook in the gulf at Newport Pass. Billy Sandifer said he used a piece of white sheet on a jig or something like that.
