Is there anything better than catching a Bullred on a topwater? Fishing with the topwater is my favorite method of fishing because of the blowups. I don't even care if I land if there was a great blow up and I will fish all day with a topwater even if it is in the middle of August. This is one of the best blowups I have ever seen and it resulted in a new PB redfish. Here is the link to the full video: https://youtu.be/V_BCdREnH0Y

What are your experiences with the topwater?

Ha ha! I fish topwaters to a fault for trout. I guess I got bored worm fishing for bass when I was a kid.

Not much opportunities in the surf for bull reds on top but September in the bays is Awesome!

Dont tell the reds that - i throw topwaters for a bit every trip - usually close to sundown.

My buddy was wading back to the boat on Fence Lake, just lazy letting a tiny popper drag on his fly line.
He caught a slot red by complete accident.

Close, I was fishing a TSL grasswalker, which is a neutral-density lure, on Estes flat. On the set attempt, I pulled the lure out of his mouth.
I went right back to my dog-walking presentation. At the bow of my kayak, his head and back (25" red) broached the water on a miss.
I stopped dead still, and he broached a 3rd time with an eat, 4 feet in front of my dangling legs - then took out 50 yds drag.

Worm fishing for bass is boring. I would much rather throw a topwater and get some exciting action. I have fished September in the bay so I am definitely going to have to give that a try.

Enjoyed the video and checked out your channel. Congrats on the PB! It's always thrilling to get hit on top even if they miss it. On your page I'm not sure how other channels appear under the channel tab. Are they favorites or subscriptions or maybe both. I do know you have a couple of my favorites with RedfishRoss and Thresher. I wonder if Cooper ever posts on here?

Thanks for the fishin' mission. Very Happy

Hahaha I thought I was the only one addicted to the blowups. I'll fish top water all day everyday unless theres alot of grass. I guess that's why my BP red, speck, jack cervell, skip jack, snook, bonnet head shark , hardhead are all on top water. Haven't caught a flounder yet but I figure if I throw it enough it's possible.
