The surf looked a little gnarly Saturday morning, but the forecast said it would lay down mid-day. I knocked around the house getting a few chores done and then hit the surf at 11:30 bound for the rigs. The first rig had a school of hungry spinner sharks, and my carefully suspended bait that was meant for a cobia got eaten by an aerobatic shark within a minute of it being deployed ...so I moved on to deeper structures. Big Spanish and kings came aboard and then I had some fun "downwind paddling" on the way in, and actually got the kayak up to 12 mph on one of the more organized swells. The surf was fun on the way in, and it made for a memorable solo fishing trip. Can't wait to do it again later this week!

| Yeah, after paddling that far and racing the last mile, I took more than one deep breath. And the second bar almost tossed me out of the kayak, so the end was interesting in more ways than one. |

| The internal rod storage is a huge plus in that stealth. I have been paddling a Viking for 5 years now and that is something I envy! Nice vid prof per usual. |

The two things that Stealth has over the Viking Reload is internal storage and raw speed. Viking offers a little more stability and overall storage capability, and the plastic hull can head fearlessly into the flats. My Reload is still in the garage, waiting for the next trip to chase redfish. |

Thank you, and I used to feel the same way about choppy conditions, until I got a kayak that's fast enough to surf and allows me to store my expensive babies safely inside the hull. Most of my hesitation was always due to worries associated with flipping and messing up or losing gear. When that's not a concern it suddenly becomes a lot of fun! |
