I have only been out in the past two sharkathons, with pleasant weather and such. Guess it's my turn to enjoy the nasty conditions. Oh well. Oh well, I could be working.

Great news for old school fishermen who swim baits and have homemade sand grabbers!!! Good luck staying in a yak. Also makes it hard to keep a bait out if you don't know how to angle up with a north wind.

I will be headed down Thursday morning to stake out my piece of beach and try to catch some more bait. I always told my wife we needed to stay away from the beach during Sharkathon and now here we are going into it on purpose. With the boundaries opened up from Port Mansfield all the way to Port A maybe the concentration wont be so bad and spread out a bit more.

Hopefully we all stay safe and dont break to much stuff and my wife doesnt kill me!

The same Gods have the same sense of humor for those who have been involved in the local county live stock show for the last 60 years or so. It will be the coldest and wettest weekend of the year - always has been - always will be. But being cold and wet on the beach is a lot tougher than being in a large barn in the same kind of weather. Just proves the Big Guy has a sense of humor.

that's what boots and hats are for

I think I started a craze when I wore my Milano to the North Slope one December - I seemed to be the only cowboy hat in all of Alaska.
When I went back the next summer, everybody was wearing them.

I didn't register this year so I won't be down at PINS this weekend with the weather. I am very interested in how this tourney is going to play out with the swell and the yaks. I'm a broken down plow horse with a spinal fusion and would never make it through the surf in those conditions.

Definitely interested in the flat fish... Sharkathon sea of humanity, not so much.
Flounder should be on the move as of now.
