| Got a question for you guys in the know. From your past experience, what effect will this tropical storm have on the Corpus area? I came in late May after a tropical storm and the water was beautiful and the fishing was great. If you were guessing, what can we expect on PINS? Higher tides? Great fishing? I am coming down next week and the weather shows a 70 per cent chance of rain every day. Is this a trip i should postpone? |

Likely. Swell increases and typically tides to the dunes. Pay attention to the forecasts so you don't get stranded (if you come down - can't make that call for you). It's way across the Gulf, so the effects ought to be relatively small here.

My Magic 8 Ball says "The time of the year points to Yes". But then, you might find nothing but hardheads, which is what I saw caught in abundance over the Holiday Weekend.

had a blast fishing storm tides in the past - as long as you're in the tide and not in the blow.
On a 4' storm tide, we were able to take a power boat into airboat trails, and caught jacks and baby tarpon in the bottleneck between Fence and Allyn's lakes.
We also saw tailing sharks on Cedar Bayou flat. |
