Got a text from a friend this am. Over thirty reds caught off the end of the Packery North Jetty, looks like their schooling already.

Can't wait for them to start cruising the beach. There was no bait to speak of in the surf yesterday for them to be chasing. Can't wait for the mullet migration and the Reds to follow

True that ^^^.

Took the dogs for an early beach run, and saw a guy with his bait bucket setup in a little pull wagon going up and down the beach today, wearing out his cast net!!! Didn't see much make it into the live well. He was a trooper for the effort. I saw very little in the wade gut. But, the water is definitely warmer and the clarity is pretty good.

There are no reds at the Packery jetties - only zombies, game wardens, and zombie game wardens. Stay away!

Excellent!!! I'm coming down Monday for three days, offshore forecast is looking iffy so I'll just hit the beach.

I spent the weekend at 13.7 miles down PINS. There was mullet and tons of Herring in the wade gut. Some mullet in the first gut. Caught a 20 inch trout that was pretty fat. Should have been plenty of bait for larger fish. I only threw the cast net a few times and had plenty.

Sounds like the aftermath of a redfish schooling frenzy to me...
