Anyone prefer these? I never really have used them, preferring just straight non-rattle diving Rapalas or large spoons. I'm kind of stuck with the lures I've been fishing since the 70's. The only thing I've used in the past are silver rattletraps for Bonito and Bluefish, but that's just bait collection around the rigs.

However, my Father in law who has never come across a lure he would not buy, has sent me several Sebile lures with a rattle that sounds louder than a thrown trashcan. They look vaguely like a pilchard and are roughly hand-sized.

Are they worthwhile trying? Will it make any difference at all? Apparently they are the hottest thing for Northern Pike these days.

Thansk for the info guys.

I tried them this weekend. No bites and I had a heck of a time getting them to run properly. The action is extreme, but trolling is just not in the cards. They overspeed too easily and pop to the surface. I suppose you could cast them and twitch them in like a stickbait, but they weigh 4oz at least. Confused

Try the Halco Max 110. It rattles a little, and in the last few weeks I've caught over 60 kings on them. I don't work them or run fast to make them rattle more, I just paddle the kayak at normal speeds and the fish attack.

Tino I need to see you in my office... Laughing

Just be aware that with rattling lures here is something to think about:

Trolling two of the same noisy lures will cut your number of strikes down significantly. I usually opt for one rattler and one quiet lure, or two different lures that have different sounds where one has a more subtle rattle. I'm not sure why they shy away from a pair of noisy baits, but they sure seem to do that with me.

Hey now, I had a nibble once. Others told me it was my imagination, but I'm sure the cork bobbed a little.
