This Site Sucks!
Each time I log on I have to go through the whole forgot my password procedure because the site will not recognize my password.
I missed The IMS fish fry last year because I could not access my private messages and did not get the invitation until 3 months after the party.
If I use an apostrophe, my posts end there.
I can not post pictures unless I use a third party hosting site that may or may not work the next time I try to use it.
This is my favorite site.
Better people.
Better info.
Better entertainment.
I have a ton of pictures I would love to share with you and I can contribute useful info more often, but I do not always have time to go through the whole reregistration process or proofreading to make sure I have not committed the sin of apostrophe.
If it takes money to fix this, I am ready to contribute.

Ding, ding, ding!!!! Salt on the Brian escalated it pretty quickly, but Allen points out the root of the problem. Well, save for the comma/apostrophe issue - although that's only via copy-and-paste (and hopefully everybody already knows about that glitch  ).
If you do a copy-and-paste, and you got some questionable characters, delete them and re-type them, and it almost always fixes it???? Not sure why, but that's just the way it is. |

I haven't been able to post pics up from tiny pics and I cleared out my browser and my cookies. I just did an experiment. when I post from my iPhone I cant use apostrophes but when I use my lap top no problem'''''''''. Don't even ask me why that happens I went to college for metals and metal preservation not computers. Tyler posted pics for me from tiny pics with out problem so its probably my dumb asstorphe. my hero will come by oneday and help me fix the problem. As for the fish fry there will be another just like friends you lose some and you win some. I have lost a few through death and my mouth. Sometimes I think my mind has not recovered from heart surgery I lose stuff and forget what I do and say a lot I don't think its an age factor. life goes on. So most of your problems could be phone related. See I got off the subject and don't know why???? hopefully its just part of the healing process. IMS

Sorry about the apostrophe comma issue. I think that happened when the internet changed the html protocols.
I probably need to upgrade the PHP version of the forum. I am afraid however that would be next to impossible to do unless there is a PHP Forum guru out there who could assist for a modest fee. We have roughly 12 years of information on here - a virtual treasure trove from many posters who are fishing now up in heaven. I hate to lose all of that. Remember when this site went down with the black banner and green writing that said "Hacked for Islam"?
Boy was that a pain.

| I was having problems with tiny pics also, Stan. What I found out is that on the link to the forum's ETC I had to hold my finger on that code until two little blue dots came up and said copy or paste then I had the slide the dots to the end of the codes in both directions and then hit copy then I was able to paste on the site. It's kind of complicated but it works. Another weird things if I copy directly from my phone it turns the picture sideways I have to email myself a picture and post from vzmedia. Even for a modest fee, I wouldn't do it. You are right about the HTML5 coding upgrades, and the 'less-than-backwards-directionality-compatible' problems with existing PHP. No need to possibly destroy all the info that is in the interwebs of CF.com. I know enough about PHP to say, 'let that sleeping dog lie'.
3rd party hosting for photos is a pain (admittedly), and 'A Pox on Photobucket's House'!!! My happy medium turned out to be Flikr. But then zia, I don't post from my phone, so don't know if it would help with your 'sideways' issue...... (Maybe hold your phone sideways for the pics.......????? Just a thought!  ).

What 3rd party hosting site are you using? There is typically a way to change the display size, and not end up with huge pics that hog bandwidth. |

It happens on both phones and my tablet.
I have found that I can log back in on my laptop, but I do not like to use it.
