| I am looking to catch some big 20+inch skipjacks. Anyone know a spot in the Aransas Pass/Port Aransas area where they might reside? I came across a school of them at night last April and it's such an adrenaline rush. |

if you have a kayak, Lighthouse lakes, and any of the cuts from South Bay down the Aransas Channel - basically any cut you can paddle to from the launch.
If you enter Lighthouse Lakes from the trail marker 60 cut right across from the launch and keep going in that direction, between trail markers 47 and 46, you'll see a couple of duck blinds. There are some mid-thigh-deep bowls on the wide side of the duck blinds that usually draw good ladyfish and rat reds.
Ladyfish always make good fish sign - you can see their wakes, or see bait jumping out of the water.
If you go all the way across to the trail marker 27 cut to Lydia Ann channel, have waded the hard-pack beach there and been on jacks a few times (always ladyfish on the hardpack beach up Quarrantine Shores to Outside Beach). The jacks make really good fish sign, and they're like hooking UPS trucks trying to get back to the deep water.
If you drop in Slow Ride in Aransas Pass, I'm sure he'll have a Lighthouse Lakes laminated trail map with GPS waypoints for all the markers. He can even rent you a kayak and let you join a guided group.
