After a week of evacuating because of the hurricane, cleaning up damage around the house, living without AC or electricity for a week, getting skin cancer cut off my face, and refereeing three consecutive days I needed some R&R. Went out about 9:30 this morning to the two minute honey hole and I only caught a couple small trout. Went to the three-minute hole and found some fish and picked up a few Keepers. Decided to put down the power pole and it turned out that that was a mistake. The motor stopped working. I looked down in the hole where it is and it was filled with water. I guess it got shorted out with the rains. Disconnected the hydraulic lines and was able to pull it up by hand and tie it off. Almost gave up and came back in but decided to go about another minute boat ride from where I was catching to trout and redfish. Made a couple small drifts picked up two more keeper reds and another trout. Was hoping for a little more relaxation but it was fun just the same. I released all fish. I guess I'll give John Reynolds a call to see if he can figure out what's going on with all my electronics.

You did better than we did at the boat hole and ICW. Although we didn't have engine probs. Glad you were able to fix it and didn't have to sit out there and wait for someone.

Yeah, I need a couple days to recuperate as well. I spent the last 5 days helping out the clean up of Rockport. Was blessed to have even more volunteers come with me from Austin as well as more just showing up. in all we helped 3-4 homeowners a day with limbs, logs, and helped one completely gut their wet sheetrock and insulation.
Corpus and the near upper laguna did receive a lot of rain.. but it should come back pretty fast. For the first week or so, look on the deeper edges of the flats in case the rain did drop the salinity sufficiently up shallow. Most of the flats should recover fairly quickly.
Here's a map with some links to TCOON stations. I dont think all these stations in the back of nueces are reporting accurately though.

Good for you TS, and the other volunteers. That's where I found the fish yesterday; on the edges of deep water. Nothing deep, nothing shallow, right on the edges
