Looking East from my street at 09:30 winds sustained at 30 with a few higher gusts. I will post pics if I can. All stores were sold out of generators and airconditioners. Luckily I have a gen. ready to go when needed. IMS

Heck, the stores up HERE are sold out of generators, gas cans, bottled water and chainsaws. I watched a guy at Home Depot buy a flat cart full. Oddly enough, no one has touched the spare chain rack or any of the two-stroke oil. Plenty of axes too.

It's all going to the coast for folks to scalp. Crying or Very sad

It looks like all the beach cams are down. I wonder how many surfers are trying to kil themselves right now? One of the surf sites has current conditions at 10-16' waves and wind at 44mph.

Good luck!

Just down from the Holiday Inn, about 9:00 am. Went back just now, the winds were higher, but the surge was about the same level. Some sand still on the steps, but most getting washed of.

Hold on to your butt.

And let me know if you see my boat float by your house.

Rain and some gusts in Aransas right now. Brother and I are sheltering in place at his house, which is a few blocks from mine. His family and our mother went to San Antonio last night. Battened my place down best I could.

Keep the reports coming y'all. We boarded up my mom's condo yesterday near Gypsy/Port O' Call and she packed up some precious things and is at my house in the Bluff now. Y'all stay safe.

Y'all stay safe. My friends are stressed about their place in port A so any pictures safely taken are appreciated. Everyone is in my prayers. PS if anyone is coming to San Antonio my HEB had a little bread and water but no tortillas (which I believe is one of the signs of end times). Seriously everyone be safe and I hope sooner rather than later I can see everyone fishing again

One of our lease holders from Rockport came up with his family to wait it out at the hunting lodge. His fee will be well worth the money this year.

Spot on. It's at the Sea Wall just south of the Holiday inn on the Island. We make a trip to that spot for every major storm in the Gulf. Have seen waves wash up and over that spot, enough to knock people off their feet.

Still windy here in the Bluff, on and off rain. Nothing too bad. Fingers crossed, and thanks for all the thoughts out there. Power still on, so life is good.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the stayers. I've experienced a couple of these and the worst one was the aftermath of one when I was 15 in Cameron, Louisiana. I lived in Orange, Texas and went over with my church to help clean up. The storm surge was approximately 20 feet high and only folks on the 3rd floor of the parish government building survived! Corpses were brought in from all over the marsh to be bagged up, including ones the crabs and whatever had eaten on. It was not a pretty site, and definitely made an impression on me I obviously have never forgotten. Riding out a hurricane can be deadly for more one reason, especially the impact of moving water. Good luck to those who have decided to stay and "ride it out". It can truly be a life changing decision.
